Starbreeze and Overkill launched their sign-up website to the first Payday game to come to mobile today. It's a closed beta test, meaning that it will be restricted to only those that sign-up before the 10th September. As usual with most closed betas, once you sign-up and play you will be asked to provide feedback on the experience after the 14th October.
For those of us who haven't heard about Crime War, it is co-op/multiplayer (up to 8 people) PvP cops 'n' robbers mobile game. Once released, players can play as the heisters and the police and will feature recognisable faces from the successful PC games battling it out in familiar locations such as, First World Bank and the Jewellery Store.
From what information has been released, progression will come in a variety of; skills, items and upgrades - I would expect the usual Payday 2 mechanics with some micro-transactions. Well, at least that's the usual story with mobile revenue.
With the success of the Fortnite and PUBG mobile games, its not a shock that other developers are jumping into the same waters. Payday on mobile could have a big potential, providing that it can play well across varying devices whilst retaining similar mechanics to the PC originals. What do you think?
